The Rotary club of Pinecrest-Dadeland was at the 2018 Fitbit Miami Marathon event thanks to our club member Howard Horowitz!
The Fitbit Miami Marathon event hosted the 2018 Miami marathon and half marathon race, one of the most popular races in the U.S. Not to mention, hundreds of people fly from all over the globe to participate. As a matter of fact, over 20,000 participants ran through the streets of Miami. And what better way for the Rotary Club of Pinecrest-Dadeland to promote their charity cause.
At the event, we set up a booth for our sneaker drive. Fit bit together with the Rotary club helped reach awareness to Sneakers for Scholarship drive. As a result, we had a successful outcome as many people donated their used sneakers for charity!
Not only that, but we got to meet many great people. They told us their stories as well as their reasons for participating in this event. It was nice to see so many people involved and helping us achieve our goal.
Furthermore, Howard Horowitz, chairman of the Sneakers for Scholarship drive, said, “The Funds received help fund part of our annual $35,000 scholarship funds as well as other programs that benefit our community.”.
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our cause! Check out below clips from some of our awesome donors!
